Description
[Print Version] Travelling Trios offers 16 original trios for treble clef brass instruments, composed by David Pugh and aimed at learners from Prep Test – Grade 3 standard of playing. This collection of pieces offers students the opportunity to learn and perform together, and gain the valuable experience and benefits from playing as part of an ensemble – a very different environment to solo playing.
Using the keys of scales which students are required to learn for examination purposes, this selection of trios opens the door to an enhanced learning process. The pieces help to secure an effective association with relevant key signatures for the students’ stage of playing, whilst building group skills of listening to each other, nurturing their ability to keep in time and in tune.
The trios can be performed by any same-pitched, treble clef brass instruments, and parts can be doubled-up for larger groups where necessary. They are versatile and inclusive in their progressive nature and offer players and teachers a refreshing selection of repertoire to keep interest and engagement to the fore.
Steps for 1, 2 and 3
Travelling Trios is part of the Steps for 1, 2 and 3 series – a variety of progressive repertoires for treble clef brass instruments, offering solos, duets and trios. The books support developing players via new music which focuses on the keys of the scales required by examination boards. The Steps for 1, 2 and 3 series generates a solid key-signature-learning link for the student and enables the instrumental tutor to expand their delivery approach in an individual or group teaching environment.
